Terms of Service – ClarifAI

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using ClarifAI. By installing the extension or using the service, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About ClarifAI

ClarifAI is a Chrome browser extension that provides text-to-speech and AI-powered text explanation features. The service is operated by ClarifAI ("we", "us", or "our").

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use ClarifAI. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Accounts

Some features require signing in with a Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Free and Premium Plans

ClarifAI offers a free plan and a paid Premium plan:

Free plan: Includes unlimited text-to-speech and up to 10 AI explanations per day.
Premium plan: Includes unlimited text-to-speech and unlimited AI explanations, billed monthly at the price displayed at checkout.

We reserve the right to modify plan limits or pricing at any time with reasonable notice.

5. Billing and Cancellation

Premium subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Upon cancellation, your Premium access continues until the end of the current billing period, after which your account reverts to the free plan. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
Attempt to reverse engineer, circumvent, or abuse the service's usage limits.
Use the service to process content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
Resell or redistribute access to the service.

7. Intellectual Property

ClarifAI and all related materials are our intellectual property. Your use of the service does not grant you ownership of any content or features.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

ClarifAI is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated explanations will be accurate. AI explanations are for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as professional advice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClarifAI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ClarifAI operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
